Many venues require proof of public liability cover before external caterers can operate onsite, and our coverage ensures we meet those professional standards. This allows us to work confidently across private homes, workplaces, public spaces and a wide range of event venues throughout Sydney.

Yes — we are a fully licensed caterer, including Gold Licence certification, allowing us to professionally manage food, beverage and alcohol service across a wide range of private, corporate and venue-based events.

This means we can provide complete catering solutions including food service, beverage packages, bar service, RSA-compliant staff and licensed alcohol service where required. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate function, private celebration or large-scale event, our licensing ensures your event is managed professionally, safely and in line with venue and regulatory requirements.

All equipment hired through Art Kitchen remains the property of the company and must be returned in good condition after the event. Clients are responsible for any damaged, missing or unreturned items during the hire period. For example, missing or broken glassware is charged at $4 per item, and any additional collection or replacement costs may also be invoiced after the event.

Final confirmed guest numbers must be provided at least 96 hours prior to the event. These numbers are important as they determine final catering quantities, staffing requirements and overall event preparation. Small increases of up to 5% may sometimes be accommodated up to 48 hours before the function, depending on the event type.

Yes — minimum spend and guest numbers can vary depending on the style of catering you choose.

For canapé events, shared plates and food stations, the minimum guest number is typically 25 guests, as these styles are designed for larger social gatherings and event flow.

For formal plated dining and more intimate seated experiences, the minimum is usually 15 guests, making it a great option for private dinners, smaller celebrations and executive-style events.

Booking & Payments

Yes — public holiday surcharges apply to staff charges for all events held on public holidays. Because staffing costs are higher during these periods, this is reflected in the final invoice. In addition, events held on New Year’s Eve incur a separate 10% staff surcharge due to the high demand and premium staffing requirements during this peak celebration period.

If your event is cancelled more than 72 hours before it begins, any deposit paid will usually be refunded in full minus a $150 cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs within 72 hours of the event, 50% of the total estimated event value becomes payable. For larger events with over 150 guests, deposits may also become non-refundable within one month of the event date. 

To confirm your booking, a preliminary invoice payment is required. In most cases, this is 20% of the estimated function cost, while bookings valued over $5000 may require a 10% initial payment followed by a second instalment. This deposit secures your date and is applied toward your final event invoice. 

We recommend booking your catering as early as possible, especially for weddings and large events where dates can be secured 12 to 24 months in advance.

For private celebrations, corporate functions, and smaller events, we can often accommodate shorter lead times, with a minimum of around 3–4 days depending on the event size, menu requirements, and venue logistics.

The earlier you enquire, the more flexibility we have to secure your preferred date, venue coordination, and ideal menu selections.

Delivery / Drop-Off Catering

We typically arrive around one hour prior to guest arrival, depending on the size and style of the event.

This allows our team enough time for setup, food preparation, styling touches, beverage service preparation, and ensuring everything is ready before your guests arrive.

For larger weddings, corporate functions or events with extensive equipment and staffing requirements, we may arrive earlier to allow for a smooth and seamless setup. Our goal is always to have everything looking polished and running perfectly before the first guest walks through the door.

Yes — delivered catering is absolutely available for smaller gatherings and is often the perfect option for them.

Drop-off catering works especially well for intimate celebrations, family lunches, birthdays, office meetings, casual get-togethers, private dinners and smaller corporate events where full staffing may not be necessary.

We deliver beautifully prepared food ready to serve, making it easy to enjoy quality catering without the need for onsite service staff. Of course, if you’d still like waitstaff or bar staff for a smaller event, we can arrange that too — giving you complete flexibility based on your needs.
